Over the years, I have narrowed down what any business needs to grow. Especially online. Even the biggest businesses can’t survive without these 3 things. So what are they?
Without wasting time lets jump straight in. This is the specific order of the 3 most important things that you need to run a successful online business.

If you do not have a website, you are missing it. Let me design you a professional website. Even if you run a brick and mortar business you definitely need a website. People search for information on the web before they buy. If you are not giving them the information someone is and that person is probably getting all the money as well. Customers need to know your business hours, the prices for your services and products, your location and everything about your business. They have to find that before they buy.
Traffic is the number of people who come to your website looking for products, services, information or anything related to your business. Even if you have the fanciest website, if you do not have traffic it is as good as you do not have a website at all. You need to make sure that your website is optimised for search engines. such that when people type a key word your website or blog will appear on the list then they visit your website. Use your social media to drive traffic to your website. Make sure that you introduce products, services and anything related to your business on your website first.
It is like opening a beautiful store with doors from Italy, the furniture from France and so on but nobody visits that store. If they visit, they are just there by accident and they start to ask you for time or water and oops! They are not interested in your business or your imported doors at all. If they come to your website they have to buy eventually, they have to be your customers. It is your duty with your marketing team to turn visitors into customers. You must craft a powerful marketing strategy. The funniest thing with online behaviour is, if your visitors are not interested they just leave and never come back. So you have to make sure that you drive interest. In sales and marketing, we talk of AIDA. That is the abbreviation for Attention, Interest, Decision, Action. Let me explain what that means:
Attention- You have to get your visitors attention, they must be hooked to what you are selling. Find ways to grab their attention, it might be a short video, some great text, a free gift or anything that grabs attention. You only have 3 seconds to grab your web visitor’s attention, so be sophisticated and keep it simple.
Interest– Drive their interest, make sure you are grabbing their attention with something interesting. It must be a great deal too hard to ignore. Your marketing team should be well versed with designing interesting deals. Or else contact me to design some for you.
Decision– Make sure they make a decision and a positive one. Your customers should be given options that are favorable to your marketing campaigns. The decision to click the button, drop an email, call you or to write an email should be accelerated by setting up some buttons that prompt them to take decisions and take action.
Action– Online deals are fast and your web visitors should take action fast. Make sure that your text, buttons and everything is pushing them to take action. But be careful and do not over do it because you might scare them away. Your customers should take action and your website should help them to take action fast and easy. Make sure the action links are not broken, make sure they are not out dated and make sure they are going to the right place.
Do not complicate your business. Everything you do should be focused on the 3 most important things you need to run a successful online business. These are must haves for any business namely, Website, Traffic and Customers. There are different methods to grow any business but if you narrow down your list you will realize that you only need these three things that we discussed here.
